Family Power Fund

Family Voices, System Solutions

A family at a rally

We believe that families should lead the way in shaping policies and systems that impact their health.

Through the Family Power Fund, we support nonprofits that develop and engage leaders, drive advocacy for health-focused policies, and amplify stories that reveal health challenges and inspire solutions.

We invest in organizations that:

Cultivate belonging and develop the leadership of parents, caregivers, and youth to participate in health-focused advocacy.

Organize and mobilize families to address social drivers of health, such as food security, housing affordability and early education.

Provide expertise, training and resources to help families, organizations and communities navigate complex policy systems.

Raise awareness of health disparities and highlight solutions through journalism, research, storytelling, and convenings.
Support inclusive communities and strengthen organizations’ ability to engage in advocacy with an equity lens.
Think your work aligns with the goals of the Family Power Fund? We’d love to hear from you!

To apply for a Family Power Fund grant:

First, review general eligibility information in our Grant FAQ. Then, email us at [email protected] with a brief description of your work and how it connects to improving health in Montana.

If it’s a strong fit, we’ll reach out within three weeks to schedule a conversation with a Resource Partner. This will be an opportunity to share more about your mission, goals, the communities you serve, and your organization’s governance structure. Based on that conversation, the Resource Partner may invite you to submit a short application for consideration in an upcoming grant cycle or provide feedback if your work isn’t the right fit.

Grant applications are typically reviewed three times per year (May, August, and November in 2025), with decisions made within 2–3 weeks of each review date. Approved grants are paid out within one month of the decision.
