Auntie, equity activist, advocate for the power of collective community solutions. Carly Hare (Pawnee/Yankton) brings two decades of experience in philanthropy, focused on building trust and addressing the root causes of health challenges. She is known for balancing grace with grit and filling a room with her generous laugh and powerful lulu. Her Pawnee name, <i kita u hoo <i ]a hiks, means “kind leader of men,” reflecting her dedication to listening to community and building authentic relationships. Carly joins Headwaters Foundation after leadership roles at the Colorado Health Foundation, CHANGE Philanthropy, Culture Surge, Native Americans in Philanthropy, and the Native American Rights Fund. She is excited to partner with nonprofits in Western Montana to build community power for better health. In her free time, Carly enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, and loves a good board game or karaoke night.
