Spotlight on Community: Montana Health Equity Task Force

The Montana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) has received a two-year COVID-19 Health Equity grant through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and invites you to add your voice to the work!

Collaborate and build relationships with others in your region who are working to improve health equity in Montana. Identify gaps in health equity and work on a regional level using evidence-based practices to support and build health equity for underserved and high-risk populations across our state. This task force works in a regional structure and meets monthly. Honorariums are available for American Indian participants and are granted on a case-by-case basis within each region.

The priority areas each region has identified are:

South Central

  • Behavioral Health /Substance Use Disorder (SUD) & Mental Health  
  • Aging Services 

Western

  • Behavioral Health 
  • American Indian leadership in Health Equity 
  • LGBTQIA+ Education in Healthcare 

 Eastern 

  • American Indian leadership in Health Equity
  • Access to care 
  • Behavioral Health /Substance Use Disorder (SUD) & Mental Health  

North Eastern 

  • Behavioral Health /Substance Use Disorder (SUD) & Mental Health  
  • Workforce 
  • American Indian leadership in Health Equity

North Central  

  • Transportation  
  • Aging Population  
  • American Indian leadership in Health Equity
