VIDEO: The Story of GO! Grants

Headwaters Foundation is dedicated to the principles trust-based philanthropy, a model that flips the script on traditional philanthropy by providing adaptable and easily accessible funding, fostering mutually accountable relationships between funders and grantees, and more.

Our commitment to this philosophy is evident in our GO! Grants Program, which is specifically designed to support organizations serving kids and families in rural areas outside of Western Montana’s major cities. These quick-turnaround general operating grants are an example of trust-based philanthropy in action, a groundbreaking model that has proven instrumental for many Montana nonprofits.

We partnered with MAPS Media Institute to capture stories of GO! Grantees (Cultivating Connections and A VOICE) and offer a platform for them to share their perspectives on the impact of this unique grant program. What makes the story even sweeter is that MAPS has been a recipient of GO! Grant funds since 2018, underscoring the interconnected and supportive ecosystem we aim to cultivate.
